Amisk Lake our Boreal Beauty

I have learned a great deal about plant medicine from the places I come from and live within. Since my youth I have come to understand the vast boreal forest through my exploring of lands and waters in the northeast of Saskatchewan, and I have been blessed to make this beautiful place my summer home. I have taken many years to learn about the medicinal plants of the boreal forest, and I have been gifted by elders, knowledge keepers and ancestors upon my journey. I am overjoyed to work as a traditional harvester and apothecary and I take due care in all that I do to provide others with herbal teas and medicines. I now understand this journey as a sacred one, and make it my life mandate to engage in this work in an ethical and sustainable manner. This incredible place is pristine and healthy, as are all the inhabitant indigenous plants, and I aim to protect the waters and lands of northern Saskatchewan, as do many others who are concerned with sustainability of our eco-systems and our planet. It is my duty to stand by for all plants, trees, living beings, and the muskeg itself, to be a protector for the boreal and for Amisk Lake, and the lives of the next seven generations of human and all other species.
